Survey: Managing Risk and Supply Chain Design

Introduction
I am researcher at the Hamburg University of Technology in Germany, my research focus is on Risks in Supply Chain Network Design.
The goal of my research is to better understand the supply chain design process considering risk and uncertainty. Additionally, companies should be provided a framework for an optimal supply chain design decision process.
My research is based on an extensive literature review combined with field research (best practices) on risk in the supply chain design process.
Therefore I conduct focussed, semi-structured interviews with supply chain executives with companies in Germany and the USA.

Interview guide
The interviews will contain questions in the following areas:
- Company Context
The products and services of your company, your roles in the company - Supply Chain Context
Major supply chains in which your company is a part of, structure of the supply chain (elements an connections), further properties of the supply chain - Strategic Network Design
Processes and organizational aspects of network design in your company - Risks and Strategic Network Design
How are risks included within the planning processes, how does this influence your decision making (eg. mitigation strategies)
Taking part: Confidentiality / Contact
The interviews are conducted with support of the Institute of Business Logistics and General Management of the Hamburg University of Technology.
The results of the interviews will be treated confidentially, it will not be possible to infer from the published results to the interviewed company or person. This is achieved by assigning random codes for the company and interviewee directly after the interview to ensure anonymity. The assignment (person / company code to real person / company) will never be published.
This interview will take about 60 minutes and can be completed in person or via telephone. If you are interested, please contact me via email or twitter.
