Identifying sources of uncertainty to generate supply chain redesign strategies
Year:
2002

A very interesting part of Supply Chain Risk Management deals with the impact of uncertainty on the supply chain design process. Van der Vorst and Beulens (2002) address this topic, and focus on the redesign of supply chains.

They claim that sources of uncertainty can be a key driver for chain redesign and after analyzing the literature and own research (case study) they present a tool for supply chain redesign where the sources of uncertainty support the selection of the relevant strategy.

The Impact of Sarbanes-Oxley on Off-Balance Sheet Supply Chain Activities

The benefit of the Sarbanes-Oxley-Act of 2002 have been widely discussed. Most people have either a negative or a ambivalent view of the resulting compliance activities.
Usually S-OX is seen in the domain of the accounting and finance departments. Effects on other corporate functions are often neglected.
The article by Kros and Nadler (2010) analyzes why and how supply chain professionals and supply chain activities might be affected by S-OX.

Ericsson's proactive supply chain risk management approach after a serious sub-supplier accident
Year:
2004

Supply Chain Risk manifests itself in many ways. Today the German airlines restored their regular flight schedule again after six days of no or limited air traffic, after the latest eruption of the Eyjafjallajökull vulcano on Iceland.

The consequences of such events only rarely become evident, but in the background emergency plans have to be executed (or developed).

Modeling uncertain Forecast Accuracy in Supply Chains with Postponement
Year:
2009

LeBlanc, Hill and Harder emphasis the uncertainty in forecast accuracy in their 2009 paper. And therefore address a huge gap in current SCRM research.

Supply chain migration from lean and functional to agile and customised
Year:
2000

I have been reading a lot of interesting articles lately, hence I could not post as often as I wanted. I found an article by van der Vorst and Beulens (2002; “Identifying sources of uncertainty to generate supply chain redesign strategies”) which opens a new perspective on the SCRM issue. I am going to publish a review later this week and link it here.
